The 48 bed secure juvenile detention facility is a regional facility located in Bowling Green, Kentucky. This 29,800 square foot building houses a variety of spaces necessary to juvenile detention. Besides the 48 bed spaces (the building is designed to accommodate an additional 48 beds), it includes spaces for youth workers, counselors, general administrative spaces; contact and non contact spaces, as well as classroom spaces. It also houses an indoor recreation area, full dining and kitchen functions as well as intake and medical areas.

The entire structure is a load bearing masonry structure with a brick veneer. All detention controls are centered in a central control room. The control room operates all fire alarm, doors, intercoms, cameras, plumbing and HVAC controls. This facility along with two others, represent the Commonwealth of Kentucky’s continuing commitment to its new Juvenile Justice Department, and the state of the art facilities.
