The two Juvenile Justice Detention Facilities are intended to be similar in size and scope. Each facility will be approximately 21,000 s.f. in size. Each will house both male and female juveniles for a total of 48 in each. One project will be constructed in the rural suburbs of Paducah, Kentucky while the other will be constructed in the downtown, urban center of Newport, Kentucky. Each facility will be relatively self-sufficient containing learning and rehabilitation areas as well as indoor recreational areas. Both will have self-sufficient kitchen and dining facilities as well as 48 wet "cell" resident sleeping quarters.
