Kentucky Fair & Exposition Center South Wing "C" Addition Louisville, Kentucky Client: Commonwealth of Kentucky Finance and Administration Cabinet Division of Engineering New Capitol Annex Frankfort, Kentucky 40601 Contact: Mr. Mike Sausman 502.367.5128 www.kyfairexpo.org Construction Cost: $44,645,000.00 Square Feet: 352,000 Completion: September 2005 ‘The South Wing “C” Addition is a 352,000 sq. ft. expansion to the existing Kentucky Fair and Exposition Center complex, making its amount the largest exhibit and meeting facility in the United States. The additions new 166,500 sq. ft. Exhibit Hall features an open floor area with columns spaced at 120 foot centers and utility floor ports spaced at 30 foot centers. The clear height in the Exhibit Hall is 27 feet with zoned heating and air conditioning, dimmable lighting and a sound system interconnected to the existing complex. The new Exhibit Hall adjoins an existing Exhibit Hall, connected by a 360 foot long moveable wall. The Exhibit Hall has loading docks, restrooms and concessions to the east, a two level conference center to the west and a main entry lobby designed with a pedway connector to a future convention hotel planned to the south. The 42,250 sq. ft. Conference Center is designed on two levels with the meeting spaces arranged so they can be divided into smaller meeting rooms by moveable walls. The meeting rooms feature carpeted floors, wall covering, acoustical ceilings and dimmable lighting controls with independent sound system. The Conference Center is supported by a service core , restrooms and a prefunction lobby on each floor.. The prefunction lobby is linked to the existing circulation spine so at times the entire complex can be utilized by one large convention or by multiple smaller shows. Addition parking was added, drives were redesigned to accommodate additional traffic and the main entrance drives were redesigned to create a new entrance to the existing complex and the South Wing “C” Addition.
