The District Four Office Building for the Kentucky Department of Transportation is a two level, 27,900 sq.ft. facility. The new facility located in Elizabethtown, Kentucky, replaces an existing, outdated circa 1940’s facility.

The new office facility houses a total of 13 different departments. Other functions include meeting space, break room area, storage, conference spaces and a "war" room where Engineers meet during road emergencies in their district and across Kentucky. This room is 100% self contained with its own restrooms and lounge facility. Godsey Associates Architects has also designed the facility with downtable systems office furniture in mind and provided that plan as well.

The new facility will be a steel framed facility with brick veneer and curtain wall glazed facade. The project is phased in such a way the existing facility may remain in use while the new project is completed. It is scheduled to begin construction in the later part of 2001.
